Pastors & Staff

Ivey Rhodes

Lead Pastor

Ivey was born in 1985 in downtown Charleston, SC and raised all over the Carolinas. His life was radically changed by the gospel when he was 14 years old. While he didn’t know all that was going to mean, he began to feel the call of God toward full-time ministry at 16. So Ivey began to pursue that call. In 2006 Ivey married Allie, the love of his life. They now have four children Maggie, Quentin, Levi, and Olan. In 2007 he completed his B.A. in Religion and Christian Leadership at Charleston Southern University. and in 2016 he finished his Masters of Divinity at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary.

Ivey has worked in church planting for almost twelve years. In 2005 he started as a student pastor at a new church called Oceanside Church in Mt. Pleasant, SC. He eventually became the associate pastor 2007. In September of 2016 Ivey, Allie, and their four children planted their lives in Boston in order to start a church in Jamaica Plain.

Bill Hopkins

Community Pastor

Bill was born in Western New York in 1971, and spent his childhood in the small town of Cuba.  He responded to the gospel at a church camp but, struggled to understand what that meant until moving with his family to Durham NC at the age of 15. It was during this time that he learned he had a love for Bible teaching and leading Bible studies.  As God called him to vocational ministry he sought to further his education at The College at Southeastern, Wake Forest, NC. In 2006 he achieved a Bachelors in Biblical Studies with a minor in the History of Ideas, and began to serve at Cross Culture Church in Raleigh, NC by leading its small group ministry until December of 2016.

Bill and Beverly Hopkins were married in 1993. Ten years later they were blessed to adopt Ruthie from China. Bill and his family moved to Jamaica Plain, in July of 2017.

Allie has been directing and working in children's ministry for eight years. She loves to teach kids. It's her passion and in her blood. Her mother taught for more than 40 years in the public school system. Allie followed in her mothers footsteps and received her BS in Elementary Education in 2008 from Charleston Southern University. She has always had a heart for people with special needs. In 2012 God blessed her family with a child with Down syndrome. When you visit us you'll see him running the hallways and shaking hands. She also has three other children. Today, she loves to teach her four children from home.
