“Eat a live frog first thing in the morning and nothing worse will happen to you the rest of the day.” ― Mark Twain
In doing research for this week's message, I ran across an interesting page, "16 Of The Dirtiest Jobs In America." While you can browse the page yourself, I've compiled a list of my five favorites. Consider these your frogs. No matter how bad your job is, you're probably not doing this.
- Owl Vomit Collector- Science everyone.
- Horse pH Level Tester- Let's just say you have to get the absolute freshest manure samples from inside the animal.
- Ship Boiler Cleaner- claustrophobics beware. Also extremely dirty.
- Sheep Castrator- They use their teeth to do the job... like, for real.
- Solid/Liquid Sewer Separator- Every solid that goes down the drain must be separated out.
Sorry about that. The fact remains all of our jobs are difficult for one reason or another. There are days when we want to quit ten minutes after we walk in the door. There are whole seasons (or lifetimes?) when we don't see the greater purpose of our jobs. I'm here to tell you that as long as your job isn't illegal or unethical, it has meaning and eternal significance... even if you don't see it yet.
Tomorrow we finish up our mini-series on work. We are going to explore the eternal significance of your work through the Scriptures. I can't wait to worship with you.
Join us for worship tomorrow!

🌎 Wake Up the Earth Festival in JP: Saturday, May 5
Click to Sign up to volunteer for a shift at Wake Up The Earth. A 40 year JP tradition that we get to be a part of! We'll be running our own small craft booth from 9AM-6PM. We need folks to take shifts working it. Come out, meet your neighbors, enjoy the atmosphere, and take an hour to serve the church.
